Letter from John (Jack) McGrath
to his cousin Mary Daly in Ireland
1933

March 18th 33

My Dear Mary,

Be sure my dear girl I have not forgotten you for a minute.  I have been through a great deal since I saw you and now am here in Congress every day many have been filled with something new and important and you go with the tide of events.  I could write a book about my campaign and my experiences since I came here.

I have been quite sick during the past three weeks with a bad ear, something happened to it on the train before reaching New York.  So had to have it lanced and am still partly deaf.  Mamie and Maureen are with me in Washington.  Congress will adjourn in May and we poss
ibly will go back to California until December.

I have a committee assignment on Naval Affairs and during the summer may go to the Philippine Islands and China.

Give my love to Tony and Tom and remember me and Mamie to the old friends around Darragh.

Some day dear Mary we will be with you again. Write to me and tell me all the news.

Full of love from all the family,
